The prehistoric Mylodon, also known as the giant sloth, was a fascinating creature that lived on Earth around 10,000 years ago. With an imposing size and an impressive weight of up to one tonne, the mylodon was a herbivore native to the South American regions, including Chile. In the town of Puerto Natales, known for its picturesque beauty and proximity to Torres del Paine National Park, there is a remarkable exhibit that takes visitors into the prehistoric world of the mylodon.

A life-size model of the mylodon in its original size brings the imagination to life and allows visitors to visualise how this giant creature once roamed the landscape. The model is detailed and shows the distinctive features of the Mylodon, including its massive body structure, powerful claws and characteristic fur.

The Mylodon model exhibit offers a unique learning experience for visitors of all ages and provides an insight into the fascinating history of Patagonia's prehistoric fauna. It is a reminder of a bygone era when giant animals inhabited the earth and shaped the world's landscapes.
